Kenny began his career as an actor working at theatres for $100/week. From there on out, the only direction he could go was up. His career highlights include a Nike commercial (featuring Ilana Glazer), leading the short film Isaac (Los Angeles Asian Film Fest, NYC Indie Film Fest), starring in the American Premiere of Maybe Happy Ending (directed by Michael Arden of Broadway’s Once on this Island and Spring Awakening), and voicing Logs on Netflix’s new animated series DeadEndia.
In November of 2020, Kenny wrote his first line of code. By December he had applied and been accepted into the 3-month Advanced Software Engineering Immersive at Hack Reactor. In January 2021, Kenny was 1 of 2 recipients of the Galvanize Scholarship, awarding him a full ride to the program.
After completing the program in early June (the program ran 6 days a week, 12 hours a day for three months), Kenny accepted a position to become a Teaching Fellow for the Advanced Software Engineering Immersive at the Hack Reactor NYC campus where he assisted aspiring engineers in their software engineering journey.
Shortly after his completion of the program, about 7 months after he wrote his first line of code, Kenny accepted a Full Stack Software Engineering position at Rally Health. Currently, he not only works at Rally but also contributes to startups StepLadder (a company looking to assist job seekers in skills-based training) and Audition Cat (an application built by actors for actors).
